Question: hi i am 31 years and planning to conceive. i m going through with the follicular study. on the 12th day of my cycle my left ovary folicile was 19.5mm with endom thickness 8.0mm. My doctor has given me fertigyn 5000 injection on the same day. kindly tell me how much time it will take to rupture the egg.

Hi,

It takes not more than 2 days for ovulation to occur after the HCG injection. Most of time it occurs within 24 hours, intercourse or artificial insemination now can be fruitful.

The ovulation has to be confirmed with a follicular scan, this indicates whether it has occurred, how many ova have been released, and whether they are viable or not.
