How Long Will It Take For The Extra Dose Of Tablet Will Completely Remove The Symptoms Of IBS , Anxiety , Gilbert's Syndrome?
I have IBS, anxiety, Gilbert's syndrome.
I am taking following medication for the last 20 years.
1. Prozac once daily
2. Alparozalm 0.5 mg 1+1+1
3. Levopraid 25mg 1+1
4. Inhibitol one daily
5. Antihistamine SOS
The following symptoms had increased in the last 3 months:
1. Dizziness / Brain fog with slight pressure on temples
2. Anxiety
3. Weakness in legs
4. Bloating
5. Gas (if I sneeze, I feel better)
6. Face flushed
It became difficult for me to work. About a month back, Doctor increased Prozac from one to 02 tablets a day. Surely the symptoms are better now however I still have an anxious feeling, pain in legs.
How long will it take for the extra dose of tablet will completely remove the symptoms?
Also I think it's a relapse. Are there chances of more relapses in the future?
Lastly is Prozac the most suitable SSRI?
Please advise.
Regards
Prozac is just one option among multiple ones
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
In regard to your first question "How long will it take for the extra dose of tablet will completely remove the symptoms?" my answer is that it can take at least 6 weeks to 12 weeks. Mostly any dose change or new dose of medications starts showing effects in a period of two weeks and continue to improve symptoms over the next three months.
In regard to your second question my answer is Prozac is just an option among multiple ones. It is neither most suitable nor least suitable. There are 7-8 SSRI available in different countries and generally side effect remains deciding factor as well as efficacy. In my personal opinion I generally prefer zoloft or Paroxetine with similar profile of patients and get better results in compare to prozac.
Regarding relapse do data exists. The relapse may or may not be there in future but the chances are high considering the duration of illness.
I hope this answers you.
Feel free to write back to me if you have more questions.
Thanks and regards.
