How Manage When Someone Gets Recurrent Seizures?
Question: I have a history of grand mal seizures. I had one at 1-130pm EST. I am taking Oxcarbazepine 600mg twice daily.
I was wondering if aftershocks are possible. Should I go to the Emergency Room?

Brief Answer:
It is not an extreme emergency.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
If you already feel better, and no neurological signs such limb(s) weakness etc., I don't think you need to go to ER right now.
It is necessary to take your medication correctly, in time and to avoid seizures triggers such fatigue, lack of sleep, strong lights, alcohol etc.
If there will be another seizure, it is better to get medical attention.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Greetings.

I have had shudders, ticks, and nausea since the seizure. Are these possible triggers or warnings for another seizure?
Brief Answer:
Seizures consequences.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
These symptoms are consequences of seizures not triggers.
If these symptoms worsen or don't get better in few hours, this may indicate that another seizure may happen.
I think you should rest for few hours in a quiet place.
If this situation continues after few hours, get medical evaluation.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
