How Many Normal Sperm Are Required For IVF?
Question: How many normal sperm are required for IVF?
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Usually around 50,000 spermatozoa are required to fertilize one ovum.
So around 4 to 5 million spermatozoa are required for IVF.
In them at-least 30% should be motile and 15% should have progressive motility.
And minimum 20% spermatozoa should have normal morphology.
Minimal deviation from the normal range can also be accepted sometimes.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to answer your follow up queries. If you are satisfied with all my answer, please rate the answer after closing the discussion.
