How Many Weeks Pregnant Do You Have To Be To Hear A Heartbeat?
Question: How many weeks pregnant do you have to be to hear a heartbeat? I am around 6 to 7 weeks based on a guessed date of my last cycle. My obgyn said that she saw a flicker and could not hear a heartbeat and wants to schedule me for a D&C. Is it to early for a heartbeat?
Brief Answer:
foetal heart beat
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query,
Ideally you can wait till 9 weeks maximum to allow foetal heart beat to arrive, however if the heart beat doesn't arrive even till 9 weeks of gestation , then its a chemical pregnancy and not viable at all.
I hope this answers your query,
Regards
