1. Currently we do not have a searchable public registry of matching stem cell samples although the same may be available internally with the stem cell bankers.
2. The number of public stem cell banks in XXXXXXX is limited. XXXXXXX based XXXXXXX (http://www XXXXXXX org) is a pioneer followed by Cord Care (http://www.cordcareindia.com/family-banking-a-public-donation.html). LifeCell is yet to open a public stem cell bank.
3. Apart from the routine testing that is done prior to delivery, no specific testing is needed.
4. Cost of testing is not applicable. Cost of storage for private banks is around Rs.70,000 although for public stem cell banks it is much less (possibly Rs. 15,000 or so, needs confirmation).
5. XXXXXXX has options of both private and public stem cell storage. Possibly it is same for Cord Care. LifeCell is currently into private stem cell banking but is soon to expand into the public sector.
