How Much Formula Milk Should A 4-month-old Consume?

Question: hello doctor

i have a 4 month old baby. till date i used to give her formula milk along with my milk. i will be joining back to work from next week.

please advise if i can continue giving her formula milk. i beleive giving cerelac should be after 6 months only. please suggest.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Since you are joining back to your office I guess that you have no other alternative than to give formula feeds. However, you also have the option of expressing your breast milk (as much as you can) and storing it in the door of the refrigerator (if it is to be used within 24 hours) or to freeze it. It can be given after thawing. Otherwise you can continue with the formula.

You should start weaning foods (like Cerelac) after 6 months of age.

thank you doctor. i have one more question. here my family members say giving milk cream to baby is good. is giving milk cream to a 4 month old baby good.

Thanks for writing back. A baby of this age should be given exclusive breast feeding and nothing else. It is not a good idea to give milk cream to a baby of this age.
