How Often A Baby's Nappy Should Be Changed?
Question: Hi doc,
I'm using Pampers diapers at night for my 5 month old baby it says it can be used for 12 hours. How often should I change the diaper if the baby doesn't poop in it? Also my baby's 14 the week vaccination was on 22 July. His birth date is April 3. I forgot to get the due date for 6 month vaccination from the doc. So when shall I give him the 6 the month vaccination? After he completes 6 months or during the 6th month?

Brief Answer:
Diapers can be used for 8 hours
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. Can understand your concerns.
Yes, it is written on long duration diapers like pampers but it is advised to use diaper for a maximum period of 8 hours. If child poops then diaper needs to be changed immediately.
The vaccination for 6 months is flu vaccine, it is given after completion of 6 months.
I hope this will help you.
Wishing your child good health.
Take care.

My baby had an axilliary lymph node enlargement following bcg... It was noticed 2 months back. Ped gave antibiotics for a week & it has come down.. but has not gone completely..He is 5 months old now.. I feel the lump has not decreased in the last couple of weeks..It remains the same.. should I worry?
Brief Answer:
Wait for some time
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome once again.
Lymph node enlargement can occur after BCG infection. The lymph nodes decrease in size as the child grows.
The fact that the size of the lymph node decreased on giving antibiotics suggests that it is due to infection and not due to BCG.
I think you should wait for some time like 2 months, if the size increases then we have to do FNAC test of the lymph node to know its cause.
Take care.

What if the size remains the same? The node didnot go instantly after the antibiotics .. it took 2-3 weeks for the node to become smaller.
Brief Answer:
Don't worry, wait for some time
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
If the lymph node would have been due to BCG, then size would have increased and other lymph nodes would also get involved. I don't think that it's due to BCG.
However, you should wait for at least 2 months to see the response.
