How Often Can Oycodone Be Taken For Extreme Pain?

Question: I am taking 30 mg HCL immediate release I am in excruciating pain throughout my body, especially in the back ,sides, shoulders, and surgical site in the clavicle that became infected in the bone. It took 4 surgeries in 5 weeks in the hospital wearing. a vac. The question is how often can I take oycodone 30 mg. HCL immediate release? Right now, I am taking it every 12 hours and the pain is terrible. Help!

Thanks for writing to us,
I have studied your case with diligence.

As you are taking 60 mg daily [30mg 12 hrly] now you can extend it safely to 80 mg per day after consulting your doctor.
Maximum you can take 180 mg per day or 6 mg/kg/day for that you may need to do blood investigate and consult your doctor.

OXYCONTIN 60 mg and 80 mg tablets, a single dose greater than 40 mg, or a total daily dose greater than 80 mg are only for use in patients in whom tolerance to an opioid of comparable potency has been established.

You can take epidural steroid shots to reduce pain consulting your doctor.
And treat cause of pain also.
