Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
For an infant 6 weeks old, you have to feed every 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs once or whenever the baby cries. That is demand feeding.
Usually babies of that age will not sleep for more that 2 - 3 hrs. Even if the baby sleeps it is best to wake your baby up and feed.
I hope this answered your query.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
If he is gaining weight there is nothing to worry. If he wakes up every 3 hours then also its fine. But if he is sleeping more than 3 hours then I would advice you to wake him and feed him every 2 to 3 hours. Atleast till he is 3 to 4 months old.
