Brief Answer:
NEEDS medicines and lifestyle modifications

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

If blood pressure remains well controlled with medicines then nothing to worry about it. However, it's better if you get her evaluated completely with some investigations like blood sugar, fasting lipid profile, Ecg and echo, just as a screening.

She should have a healthy lifestyle like avoiding fatty, oily and high-calorie diet. Have a low salt diet and monitor blood pressure regularly thrice a day for one week then once or twice a week. Bp should not be persistently more than 140/90 mmHg. She should be started on medicines like Telma AM 40/5 mg once a day. in the morning. So get this or other antihypertensive prescribed by the local doctor. If currently her bp is this much elevated then immediately take her to the hospital for blood pressure control.

She should have regular exercises like brisk walking, jogging according to her capacity at least 30 min a day and 5 days a week. Lots of green leafy vegetables, fruits.

Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.

Brief Answer:
It's fine at present, but antihypertensive dose needs to be increased.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It's fine at the moment,. but as I mentioned our target is less than 140/90 mmhg in order to reduce future complications. So both systolic and diastolic are elevated by 10, so you should get the dose of antihypertensive increased.

This happens due to age factor leading to blood vessels hardening and some genetic changes. There is also a component of salt retention. So nothing to worry about it, just keep it under control.

All the best.
