Question: Hi Dr RK. I am following up on my previous questions about lower left stomach issue. I had a blood test done for H pylori and attached results in my previous correspondence with you. IGG and IGM were negative. IGA was 9.7 which was equivocal. You had suggested I could go for H pylori treatment.
Then I got a H pylori stool test and it came negative. How should I think about this now. Should I still go for H pylori treatment. Thanks.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Sorry for the delayed reply. (I have come online after a long period).
Stool antigen test for H.pylori is more sensitive.
Since it came as negative for H.pylori, you need not take treatment for H.pylori.

Thank you for your response.
I was taking probiotics regularly before the stool test. Can that affect the results.
Also are there false negatives with the stool test.
Thanks.
