How Should A Blister At The Site Of A Fourth Degree Burn Be Managed And Treated?
Question: Hi,
I suffered a second degree burn 4 and a half weeks ago. The blister was quite big but stayed intact fully until today. It was deflated and seemed to have absorbed a lot of itself for the past week. There was a small tear in it that I noticed and I proceeded to remove the rest of the skin, thinking that it was healed underneath by now.
It looks different than I was expecting and I am wondering what I need to do to keep it healthy now as the color was a little disheartening.
Please see pictures and advise for best thing to do at this stage.

The burn area seems to be healing very well. You can continue applying Polysporin and gauze dressing. The color of the skin is not very bad. It will heal completely in few days. But make sure that you do not try to peel the skin.

Ok thanks for the reassurance. Is this type of skin still prone to being infected or am I passed that stage now?
Is it still best to keep dry for showering/etc. in the mean time?
