How Should An Infectious Boil On The Nose Of A 5-year-old Be Treated?

Question: My nephew ( 5 years old ) got a pimple on his nose. what is the cause of it and kindly suggest a treatment if needed. ..

I am Dr kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have noted your concern.
Perhaps it is either acne or a bacterial skin infection. I request you to kindly upload a few images of the affected area in "Reports Section" so that I am able to have a look and guide you better.

it was yellow earlier..now it is red

Oral and topical antibiotics

Thank you. I have viewed the images.
It is a bacterial skin infection. I suggest an oral antibiotic e.g Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid combination like Augmentin syp(228.5mg/5ml). For a 5 year old child I would suggest 1tsf, thrice daily for a week. In addition I suggest you to apply a topical antibiotic e.g Mupirocin 2 %cream (T Bact Cream), twice daily. These are prescription products and I advice you to talk to your local practitioner for a prescription of the same.
