Thank you for your response. Yes its dry cough with sputum expectoration. Not constant throughout the day. He had viral fever with cough and cold 15 days back and got fever again 2 days back with cold. The cough has not reduced since two weeks. Now he does not have fever but is feeling weak with cough and cold. He has taken Mucolite and cetirizine.

Hello,
Since he is having persistent cough irrespective of the intake of antibiotics and also anti-histamines(cetirizine), I would suggest it worthwhile to get a sputum culture and sensitivity test done; so as to look for any specific pathogen causing his symptoms. If so, then we can start him on culture sensitive antibiotics if needed. Also, has he suufered any weight loss recently?
Meanwhile, if I were his treating physician, I would suggest him to take T. MONTEK-AB twice daily for 5 days and Syp. TUSQ-D 10ml thrice daily for 5 days and then SOS.
Also I would suggest him to take steam inhalation 2-3 times daily and also warm saline gargle 2-3 times daily.
I hope this helps. Please revert back with the test results once done.
