How Should Shoulder And Hip Pain On The Left Side That Worsens At Night?
Question: I have shoulder & hip pain on left side & always feels worse at night. Shoulder pain sometimes will go down the my side under my arm. Pain also goes down my arm to my hand sometimes feels numb at times painful to grip objects such as plates

You have pain in your shoulder& hip joint on right side more in nights. the shoulder pain goes down to side of arm ,hand on the same side gets numb.
It seems to be due to arthritis. The pain is more at nights probably due to over use in morning time.The numbness of hand & pain going down the arm... can be explained by pressure on the nerve in vicinity of joint due to joint swelling.Painful grip is due to inflammation of small joints of fingers.
In this scenario you need consultation of an Rheumatologist... for physical examination , few blood tests to decide the type of arthritis & x ray as per need,followed by cause specific treatment with physiotherapy after pain is controlled.
Avoid over use. take rest, use hot/ cold pack & take over the counter Non steroidal anti inflammatory drug like Ibuprofen 400mg after food , for some relief till you see a specialist.
