How To Avoid Surgery When Cystoscopy Done And Urologist Said Bladder ?

default
Posted on Tue, 28 May 2024
Question: Recently, I had a cystoscopy done and urologist said bladder looked pristine except that it was hanging a bit low. I have OAB symptoms but no leaking. Just the opposite - just a constant urge and then often cannot go at all, just the urge. Just wondering if the bladder a bit low could be a factor at all in the urge symptom or is this common? I am 66 years old and would like to avoid any surgery.

Brief Answer:
Seems unlikely due to low bladder

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I Dr Ramadevi Wani will be answering your concerns today.
It is unlikely that a bladder hanging a bit low will cause these symptoms. An examination by Gynecologist may confirm the cause. In case of Atrophic Vaginal mucosa, using a local Vaginal cream daily for a month and then gradually reducing the frequency of application will help reduce the urge symptoms.
I believe you have been investigated for urinary infections.
Consult a physiotherapist and start doing Kegel exercises.
If the above measures do not help,
Consult urologist to see if any tablets are needed to treat these symptoms.
I hope I have answered to your satisfaction.
If you have any further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Regards.
