How To Confirm If Hymenoplasty Was Successful?
Question: Hi
I would like to have the answer from a gynecologist please. I had Hymenoplasty more than 2 years back and I'm not sure if it is still good or even if it was sucessed one, although the physician said it was but i have doubts and I think that the physician was ergant end care only about the money. I had no follow up after the surgery. I hope if you can view the photos and advise accordingly.

Brief Answer:
It is normal.
Detailed Answer:
I have seen all the additional images also. The hymen is a thin membrane of mucosa of irregular shape. It is not necessary that it should be symmetrical on both the sides. The area about which you are worried looks absolutely normal to me. This is the normal shape of your hymen and there is no need to worry. The hymen id perfectly intact.
Regards.

Thank you Dr.
My point is that from both side the membrane is not attached together. It is open from both side as if it is broken from both side.
When it is open both side I think it will make intercourse easier and might not cause bleeding. Do I need to redo the operation

Brief Answer:
Both sides need not be attached.
Detailed Answer:
Even if it is open from both the sides there is every chance that the membrane will pop during intercourse as it is a thin and weak mucosa and tears after insertion of penis. The hymen can be elastic and may not bleed even in virgins. Attaching both the ends together might cause a tight vagina thus causing vaginismus.
