How To Continue Femilon Tablet After Missing One Dose?

Question: I am prescribed with femilon tablet for polycystic ovaries and I am unmarried. I am on third cycle now. I missed to take one tablet yesterday, that is on my 8th day of periods. I am afraid that it will affect my treatment. And, my doctor has told that missing will lead to irregular periods. What should I do to avoid any problem? Taking any other alternate medicine will solve this? Or should I continue taking femilon again from today? Please advice.

It is usual for anyone to miss a pill occasionally. Don't worry. The protocol for one missed pill is to take it next day along with regular pill.

If you experience any spotting ignore it. continue the rest of the pack as usual. One or two missed pill will not effective your pcos.

Thanks for your advice doctor! I have one query regarding this. Should I take two tablets at the same time? That is, usually I take the dose at nites. And, can you please elaborate about spotting that you have mentioned in the answer?

Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
The missed tablet can be taken any time you remember it. Say you missed last night but you have remembered now you can take it now after lunch and the day 9 pill as usual at night.
Suppose you have remembered it only at night then you can take 2 tablets together. Rest of the tablets as usual.
The pills contain hormones. When missed the uterus starts to bleed. If you take the missed pills advised then you can avoid spotting. Even if you have minimum bleeding or spotting you should take the rest of the pack as usual.
