I'm 64 5'10 my weight was 255 now 235 and still dropping because of better eating habits and a lot more water.I checked my bp recently and it reads any where from 102/68 to 111/ 62. Brief Answer:
You need not take BP medicines.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
According to current guidelines JNC 8 for hypertension at BP of 139 /80 mmHg medications are not indicated.
Exercise is the key to stay healthy and to keep BP in control. I appreciate you are already doing that.
I would advice you following:
1. To stop your BP medications
2. To consume low salt diet.
3. To take low fat diet.
4. Not to smoke or consume alcohol in case you do.
5. Continue with the exercises.
Actually once you start reducing your weight your BP and even blood sugars start coming to normal range and this you can yourself see.

Stop the medication. Follow these advice and get checked your BP after 15 days and revert back to me.
If you have any further query feel free to ask me.
Stay Healthy.
