How To Deal With Anxiety When Under Stress?

default
Posted on Thu, 8 Jan 2015
Question: When someone tells me something that is troubling or im worried about something I start feeling tired. I feel drained and I have to struggle to catch my breath. When people say things I don't like it tends to stay in my head and haunts me. How can I deal with this? Is there something wrong? I'm good and problem solving and I don't panic quickly or go all crazy but when I worry too much it causes problems. I also get problems with sleeping and my eyes get dark.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

Although it is not possible to make a diagnosis with available description but my first suspicion for you is anxiety disorder.
Anxiety disorders are group of disorders which are characterized by nervousness, repetitive thoughts, rapid breathing, fearfullness, obsessions, compulsive behaviors and lot more. People with anxiety disorder also get problem with sleep after few months or weeks of starting problem.

In majority of cases no cause is found but few of the patients have some prolem which leads to symptoms of anxiety disorder. One among them is thyroid disorder. Other than that routine stress of life may be the precipitating factor for anxiety diiosrder.

Considering all these facts I request you to get your thyroid test done as soon as possible.
After getting that see a psychiatrist in your city for complete evaluation. He will ask you more details about the problem and conduct physical examination to rule out the other possible causes. According to his own assessment he may prescribe you medication or ask for psychotherapy.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
