How To Determine The Date Of Conception?

Question: If I had my period on March 10th, and had unprotected sex every weekend after that with the last encounter being march 31rst, in which in that encounter he didn't orgasm, and I took the morning after pill 8 hrs after. 5 days after the last encounter, I took am at home pregnancy test on April 5th and it came back positive. On April 18th I had a dating ultrasound and it dated me at 5 weeks 4 days. What is the likelihood that it was the march 31rst encounter that caused this pregnancy!?!

According to your information, you did unprotected sex every weekend including your fertile days or ovulation day (which occurred two weeks before period due date). Therefore, your chance of being pregnant is quite HIGH from unprotected sexual intercourse during fertile days.

Secondly, pregnancy depends on ovulation time or fertile days and unprotected sex with ejaculation inside vagina. The 31st March was Neither your fertile day Nor ovulation day according to last period date. Additionally, he DIDN'T have orgasm and you took morning after pill 8 hrs later. In this case, your chance of pregnancy on 31st March is EXTREMELY RARE or NEGLIGIBLE.

Lastly, your ultrasound scan on 18th April showed gestational age 5 weeks 4 days which corresponds with your last menstrual period date (10th March) and you became pregnant within your fertile days.

It is QUITE IMPOSSIBLE to be pregnant from 31st March sexual encounter as it was NOT your fertile day.

Pregnancy test gives positive result 10 to 14 days after ovulation and NOT before that. You CAN'T get positive result 5 days after last sexual encounter (as on 31st March).
