How To Differentiate Menstruation From Implantation Bleeding?
Question: I am on cycle day 45, and I ovulated and got my LH surge on cycle day 20 (used clear blue digital ovulation predictor kit). My cycles are typically between 32-34 days, but I ovulated roughly 6 days later than I typically do which makes me believe I was due for my period around cycle day 38 this cycle. I had some spotting for less than 12 hours on cycle day 38 that was light pink and very very little. ..Then after that there was NO more blood at all. I have been getting negative tests. This morning I tested with a first response and there was no line, but I feel pregnant, I have been having morning sickness ans dry heaving out of no where. My uterus has a "fullness" to it. I have been having slight cramping and headaches and feel very tired. Today is cycle day 45 and I am never this late without a full period. The only time I have ever missed a period was when I went off the pill, but that was a year ago. I just feel pregnant but am very discouraged that I don't have a positive to prove it, and I'm not sure when to trust the negatives. My husband and I have been trying for a year, and I was really happy when I was late but now feel more confused than ever.
Brief Answer:
Get serum beta hCG blood test done
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your eagerness to get pregnant.
The spotting what you experienced on 38th day of cycle could be your regular periods if you are not pregnant.
Spotting could be implantation bleeding if you are pregnant.
The best way to accurately predict if you are pregnant is to get serum beta hCG blood test done. This will clearly confirm if you are pregnant.
Let me know if you need anymore help.

Hey, thank you for your response. When do you recommend stopping home pregnancy tests and going to my doctor to get a blood test? Should I just end home pregnancy tests altogether? We think that the blood I experienced may have been implantation bleeding due to the fact that my period has never been SO light and it didn't even make it to my panties. It was just when I wiped and that was it. My periods are typically on the heavy side and last for a week, so this was extremely abnormal. I don't want to waste anymore money on home pregnancy tests if I don't have to, though, if they are just going to keep showing up negative.
