How To Discontinue Taking Birth Control Pack?

Question: Hi, I'm on birth control and was planning on stopping it after our holiday which was 2 weeks ago to start trying for a baby. But I was due for my period while on holidays so I decided to skip it. I'm currently 10 days onto the next month taking the active pills and was wondering if I stop taking the pill altogether now will I get my period straight away or will my cycle be completely out of sync to be able to fall pregnant straight away..? Better is to continue the full pack

Hi dear and thanks for your query.

If you currently are on the 10 active pill better is to continue to take all the pack because in this way you avoid hormonal imbalances and irregular periods .

Hence take them regularly and start to try to conceive the next month in your fertile days.

Return of your fertility depend on :
1.Duration of use of the pill
2.Your age
3.Parity(number of previous births)

While you try to conceive take folic acid 400 micro gm per day and be calm.
