How To Find My Biological Father?

default
Posted on Mon, 3 Feb 2014
Question: Female had been told who her father was by her mother. No testing was ever done. Years later, she tells the daughter that there is a slim possibility that the man's brother could be her dad. Apparently both brother had been with the mother when she became pregnant. The daughter is wanting to know who her biological father is. Do all parties, mother, both brothers and daughter need to have DNA samples tested to get conclusive results? Will she receive conclusive results with them being brothers? What if only one brother is tested?

Brief Answer: Yes, both have to be tested Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your query. Though brothers there will be considerable difference in the genomic finger printing. It is necessary for both the bothers, mother and the daughter to be tested to identify the right parenthood. One at a time, either of the brothers DNA report when combined and studied with mother's could help to identify the real father. Regards,
