The basic thing to reduce fat is to reduce weight.

Diet : The basic fundamental in dieting is to reduce the calorie. Simple facts to know are never starve or skip meals . Just reduce slightly the amount of food you used to eat everyday.
For example , if you used to eat 3 dosa/Chapati then start taking 21/2 Dosa or chapathi. Follow this principle in every meal or everytime you eat.
Avoid high calorie food like Sweets, Ice creams , Dry fruits, Cheese , Butter , Ghee and Non veg food including Egg Yolk.
Eat more of fruits , vegetables and slightly reduce intake of Rice. Avoid drinking Carbonated Drinks like Pepsi, Coca cola, etc.
Daily morning drink 1 litre of water before taking anything else. You can add Lemon or honey for that. Also make sure you never eat watching TV. Have a light dinner and also never go to sleep within 1 hour after having food.
Exercise : Make a habit of exercising everyday. It is OK even if you exercise 5 minutes a day but make sure you exercise every day. It is better if you could exercise 20-30 minutes daily.
Start slowly , start with casual walking and after 4-5 days start walking fast ( Brisk Walking ) and keep increasing the pace or duration every 2 weeks.
