Brief Answer:
May be a yeast infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
With the irritation and itch, that would suggest a yeast, or fungal infection, especially if you also had any thick, white discharge, and no unusual smell. Quadriderm has an antifungal in it, as well as an antibiotic and steroid, so it may be effective for this, but the steroid may also interfere. But to answer your question, you can try to use it on the outside of the vulva, but I wouldn't use it for more than a week (only once or twice a day). If you are still having these symptoms, you can try just clotrimazole (for vaginal yeast infections), and if you have tried that already, then usually one dose of fluconazole (an anti-fungal pill) will clear the infection.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
Thanks.
