How To Lower Vyvanse Dose?

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Apr 2014
Question: Hi, I am waiting to receive a significantly lower Vyvanse dose because the one I take currently causes me lots of anxiety and makes me feel numb to happiness. I took it this morning and wonder if drinking milk or some other anacid will help the "dose come down" if you know what I mean. I am currently on 40mg and about to move back down to 20mg. I am wondering what I can do these next few days until the lower dose arrives to make the Vyvanse "run out of my system" faster, even though I am aware that it stays in your system 12-14 hours. Thanks!

Brief Answer: Adequate hydration and time Detailed Answer: Dear patient, Thanks for the query. This substance is hydrophylic and excreted mainly through urine, so adequate hydration and time are the mainstays of enforcing appropiate metabolism; very little is excreted if at all in feces, so don't even attempt to use laxatives or others because it would not work. Mostly a tincture of time and urination. Hope this helps, yours truly Dr Brenes-Salazar MD Mayo Clinic MN Cardiology
