How To Manage The Menstruation Cycle After Taking Active Pills Post Intercourse?

default
Posted on Mon, 10 Aug 2015
Question: Ok so I think I've really messed my cycle up. Three weeks ago within 3 days Time I had to take two plan b pills. Just this last Tuesday I had another oops moment and uses regular birth control like plan b I took 4 active pills then waited 12 hours and took 4 more active pills. Now I'm just taking one pill a day until I finish the pack. All was fine until I had to take the birth control pills. I've been having lower back pain and cramps. I took a pregnancy test since I figured it would show up by now if I had became pregnant from the instance that happened three weeks ago. I think this was the week I was supposed to have my actual period and starting the pills before I had my period has messed up my cycle. Any thoughts?

Brief Answer:
Stop taking birth control pills

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.
You had unprotected intercourse last Tuesday and used birth control pills just like Plan B. Let us hope that it will be effective.
Taking morning after pills thrice has messed up your period.
I suggest that you stop taking the birth control pills now. You should start your period in a week's time. If you don't get your period, do a pregnancy test after one week.

I hope this helps.
If you have further queries, I will be happy to answer.

Ok so it won't mess things up worse to stop in the middle of a pack? I have one weeks and two days left until I get to the inactive pills.

Already some irregularity has happened because of these pills. As long as you keep taking these birth control pills you will not get your period. So stop taking them. It will not mess up your period further. Don't worry.
