How To Overcome Painful Bouts Of IBS Due To Stress?

Question: Hi, doctor. I have very painful bouts of IBS due to stress - not IBSC or D, just really bad cramping, shooting pains in the stomach. I've tried a few of the meds - Bentyl, etc that did nothing. My doctor just prescribed I guess an older med, Librax that I have not taken yet since I noticed it includes a benzo in it. I really do want to try it for the IBS pain but I also take 1mg of Klonopin daily for some time now and wondering if taking Librax will adversely interact and/or create some really bad side effects such as dizziness, nausea, etc. Thank u so much.
Brief Answer:
Two medicines of same group would result in side-effects.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and sorry to hear about your problem,
Have seen your details.
Actually you are already taking high dose of clonazepam 1mg which is a benzodiazepene, Librax also contains benzodiazepene.
So taking two medicines of same group at same time would result in overdose.
I would recommend
Rifaximin 550 mg two times a day for 14 days( standard therapy for IBS).
Plus keep taking clonazepam.
Or else stop clonazepam and start librax two times a day with Rifaximin.
Follow up after 2 weeks.
Regards!

Hi, doctor and thank u for your answer. Just one last question. Rifaximin is not yet generic here in US and the cost is $3000 so unaffordable for me. Going to give Bentyl another try at a lower dose but my question to u is about Levbid. I know there are a few variations. Could u tell me which one u would recommend and the dosage per day? Not the sublingual, prefer the tablets.
Thank u so much.
