How To Prevent Drooling While Sleeping?
Laxity of the muscles during sleep does not let you swallow the saliva
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
During your sleep, your muscles get extremely lax, such that you do not automatically swallow the saliva that is otherwise constantly produced, and the resultant collection drools out from your mouth and the muscles of your mouth are lax too, thus being unable to contain the accumulated saliva.
The condition does not require any treatment and I would not suggest going in for any medication if it is not really a major problem. In case you feel that you really need to take medicines to reduce this, taking Galamer (Galantamine) 4 mg twice daily should be helpful. But this is a prescription medicine and you should get it prescribed by a neurologist.
Hope that helps.
