How To Recover From Turbulent Flight Last Night And Both Ears Became Severely Clogged?

Question: Hi. I had a very turbulent flight last night and both ears became severely clogged. I went to the urgent care and they said that can happen but told me to take an antihistamine. I haven’t taken it but the right ear is better- just having issues with the left ear and pain with a bit of dizziness. They said my ears looked fine. Is there something I can take ? Thank you

Brief Answer:
Take and anti inflammation medicine and do valsalva maneuver.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I read your question and I understand your concern.
I suggest you take Ibuprofen 400mg every 6 hours for couple of days. It will lower the inflammation and help against the pain.

Also try to do the valsalva maneuver frequently (close your nose and breath out with pressure through your mouth closing it- check videos on YouTube if my description is not clear). It will help keeping open the channel that connects the middle ear with the throat and will drain the middle ear in case there is fluid collected in the middle ear.

Hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
