How To Reduce Extra Mass Of Fat In Chest?

default
Posted on Wed, 10 Sep 2014
Question: I am sort of traumatized with how I look. people say I'm fit and that I am skinny but they also say I have bigger boobs or man boobs as they call it. I do not like this about me, because either have tried losing weight and I still have them. I know this isn't a health issue but it is affecting me emotionally. I am always thinking that people look at me and laugh or make fun of it. I am not ugly or anything but this really bothers me and I want to knoe if there is any way that I can lose this extra mass on my chest.

Brief Answer:
It may be body dysmorphic disorder

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.

First of all congratulations for stepping out for help.
I understand your concern and I feel that you may be suffering from body dysmorphic disorder which is characterized by a preoccupation with an imagined defect in appearance that causes clinically significant distress or impairment in important areas of functioning. If a slight physical anomaly is actually present, the person's concern with the anomaly is excessive and bothersome.

Body dysmorphic disorder usually begins during adolescence. The disorder usually has a long and undulating course with few symptom-free intervals. The part of the body on which concern is focused may remain the same or may change over time.

Various kind of psychiatric medications are effective in this problem like TCA, SSRI among others.
I think you should meet a psychiatrist to get relieved from your problem.

Thanks and Regards
