How To Reduce Severe Asthma?
I m healthy person - but in my family my grand father had asthma in childhood
non of my parets have asthma !
I have son who is healthy - i follow his health and it ok
I was reading about asthma
and in literature in one article it was said that having father with asthma when you have asthma puts for more airway hyperresponsiveness
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC0000/
At baseline, AHR was strongly associated with a paternal history of asthma. Children with a paternal history of asthma demonstrated significantly greater AHR than those without such history (median logePC20, 0.84 vs. 1.13; p = 0.006). Although maternal history of asthma was not associated with AHR, children with two parents with asthma had greater AHR than those with no parents with asthma (median logePC20, 0.52 vs. 1.17; p = 0.0008).
But this is only one study -
and question does having one parent with astma puts you more in risk airway hyperresponsiveness ? - as in it is discussed in old literature, and no more new literature it is discussed
and one children pulmonologist said there is no evidence 100 % that having father or parent will put you in more severe asthma !
and now days asthma is good and effective treated

Detailed Answer:
Hello Visumss, thank you for your question and I hope I can be of help to you today.
Asthma is a condition that likely results from complex interactions between multiple genetic and environmental influences. The studies have been shown a range of heritability of asthma from 25 to 80 percent. The testing for asthma susceptibility variants is not helpful clinically and is not recommended. Nonetheless, studies of asthma genetics are helping to improve our understanding of the pathogenesis of asthma and identify new therapies.
If your child has no symptoms of asthma we do not do anything.
I hope that I could be of help to you today. Please let me know if you need any clarification. If you have any more questions, I will discuss them with you further. Wishing you good health.

The answer was not about heritability of asthma !
Yes i know that if one parent have asthms the posibility that children will have is about 28%
If bouth have than it could be 70 %
Hope you have a good health
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you again for your clarification. There is not enough evidence that your parents have asthma and can cause your child to have airway hyperresponsiveness. But it is possible to have airway hyperresponsiveness when your parents have asthma.
Wish you and your good health. Let me know if I can assist you further.
