Brief Answer:
you should continue your medication

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXX,

Thanks for writing to HCM .

Once you start taking thyroid supplememt your tsh should fall within normal range i.e 0.5 to 5microIU/L. I am glad that in one month of treatmentm your TSH has reduced to 6.1 - means you are responding well to treatment.

As far as weight is concerned, it would take some time atleast 3 months to reduce. You can faster weight reduction by supplementing low calorie diet and exercise. Please start a low calorie diet and exercise along with thyroid supplement.

Looking at your response, I would continue your tablets for one more month and repeat TSH before making modifications. If still on higher side you can discuss with your doctor regarding need to increase thyroxine dose.

Throwel and thyrocom both contain multivitamin combinations which are given in hypothroidism because with thyroid deficiency there will be vitamin and micronutrients deficiency. You can safely switch over to thyrocom as per your treating doctor's instruction. That should not affect you much.

Foods which you are supposed to avoid are as follows
- sweet potatos, broccoli,
- cabbage , cauliflower, XXXXXXX

These are some of few food items from the long list which you should avoid taking frequently as these are know to reduce thyroid hormone production.

Hope I have answered your query . If any further queries are there I would love to help.
