Question: My wife is blessed with new born baby around 2month before but she is having lot of weight. She wants to reduce weight can you please suggest way for the same.

It would be better to go for diet control after 6 months because weight reduction and diet control at this stage can decrease the breast milk production which can harm your baby's health.. Reduce consumption of processed food in your diet. They would not aid milk production however this behaviour change can aid in future weight loss you plan after 4 more months. Continue breast feeding till one yr which will not only help in improving the baby's immunity but also will help to reduce weight.. Your wife can walk as much distance as possible, this is proven beneficial for nursing mothers. You can speak to a dietitian regarding best diet that aid lactation as well as weight loss.

Postnatal excercises along with abdominal binders helps to regain the muscle tone.. Start abdominal exercises right from 6 weeks onwards.. Contact your doctor to show you the postnatal exercises..After 6 month go for a strict diet control along with aerobic exercise to reduce weight..
