Brief Answer:
Need more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,

Welcome to healthcare magic. I understand your concern.

In my opinion, in case of regular cycles the signs of pregnancy start after 2 weeks of missed period and urine pregnancy test will be positive a week after missed period. So it is too early to experience any signs or symptoms.

I understood from your history that the intercourse was done on XXXXXXX 15.
As it is 9 days from intercourse there is no chance for emergency contraception. But if the test is positive for pregnancy then in initial weeks it can be terminated by medicines. Don't worry. Relax.

Before going for further discussion I need to know:-
1) when was her last period?
2) Are her cycles regular?
3) What symptoms she is feeling?

Kindly provide me the information.
Looking forward to hear from you.
Best regards...Dr.srilatha.

Brief Answer:
Practice safe sex in safe period.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, I got your information.

In my opinion, as it is already 9 days from intercourse emergency contraception cant be given.
But it is too early to feel any symptoms of pregnancy before missing the period.

The symptoms of pregnancy are missed period with urine pregnancy test positive and with nausea, vomitings, breast tenderness and increased frequency of urination.

Ofcourse the symptoms are similar but it might be rare to experience symptoms this early.
Even the breast tenderness can be seen before the periods. The same symptoms might be seen even due to stress caused with the thought of pregnancy.

So for now we can't do anything to prevent the pregnancy as the time for emergency contraception is within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.

But if period is missed and the test is positive then it can be terminated with medicines at early stage. Don't worry.

To prevent this type of situations you can practice safe sex with condom in safe period of cycle. Unsafe period can be calculated by doing 14 days minus from expected date of period and leaving 3 days on either side of it.

For example, if expected period is on feb 1st then 14 days minus from Feb 1st means XXXXXXX 19 th will be ovulation date. And 3 days on either side of XXXXXXX 19 th ie.,,16,17,18,19,20,21,22 are the unsafe days.

So don't worry we cant definitely say that she might be pregnant. Just relax and wait for period. Because even stress delays period.

Hope this satisfies your query.
Feel free to ask any more queries.
Best regards...Dr.srilatha
