How To Treat Allergic Reactions To The Sun?
I suggest a broad spectrum sunscreen throughout the day.
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I have gone through your query and I have noted down your concern.
I suggest you to use a broad spectrum sunscreen, on all exposed skin, throughout the day. A sunscreen with spf 30 Or more is broad spectrum. Re-apply every 2-3 hours. The quantity that you use for each application should be 3ml for face and neck and 3 ml for each forearm.
I would request you to upload a few images of your skin involvement with rashes so that I am able to guide you better. Are the rashes persistent Or do they disappear when you are indoors?
You may upload an image either at reports section or else you may mail me at YYYY@YYYY with the subject line as Attn: Dr. Kakkar.

About the red rashes, exposed skin is getting swollen. I will share the images with you
Solar Urticaria; A sunscren with higher Spf of 50+; a tablet of cetrizine
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
You seem to have a condition known as Solar Urticaria.
A sunscreen with spf 20 does not protect against this type of reaction. Solar urticaria is commonly due to UV A and Visible rays rather than due to UV B part of the electromagnetic spectrum.
You must use a sunscreen with higher Spf i.e one with Spf 50 or more. Reapply every 2-3 hours.
I would also suggest you to take a tablet of Cetrizine 10 mg once daily in evening for symptomatic relief from itching.
