
How To Use Permethrin For Scabies?

The cream doctor gave me were called LYCLEAR. Permethrin why can't I use it for another 7 days. Can I use Calamine Lotion instead.

You are having scabies which is a mite infection treated with permethrin.
Permethrin will kill all the adult mites on single application but the eggs take a week's time to become adults again. So to kill them another application is recommended after 7 days. There is no need to apply permethrin before 7 days.
If the itching is severe I recommend my patients to take antihistaminic like tablet Chlorpheniramine 4 mg twice or thrice in a day depending on the intensity of itching and calamine lotion to be applied on the affected areas two to three times in a day.
