Question: I am having a CT Abdomen Bi or Ti Phasic tomorrow as new small nodes showed up in an ultra sound. What will this test be like, and how worried should I be that it is cancer?

Brief Answer:
Lymph nodes can be a cancer related.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

3 phase CT is a type of thomography where a contrast is given to veins and to intestines. In simple words, before the test you will be drinking a contrast during 2 hours. Right before the CT special drip with contrast will be given as well. You may feel a warmness during contrast injection. And nothing more will happen.
Lymph nodes can be due to cancer metastases. It all depends how advanced was the cancer. If it was stage II (B1) the risk of it is minimal. More advanced stages can give nodes metastases.
CT may be inconclusive and PET scan might be necessary.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I used the wrong term - nodes - when I meant 'NODULES'. I think this is quite a different matter, maybe less worrying? I didn't mean lymph nodes.

Brief Answer:
Nodules is a very sketchy term.

Detailed Answer:
Nodules is a very sketchy term. Its really hard to tell what exactly are they. If this nodules are in the liver can be cancer related as well. Like I have said, it all depends how cancer was advanced. Without this information its hard to predict.

Regards.
