Hello!
Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!
I understand your concern and would explain that if your heart rate is 70-90bpm, it is safe to start Metoprolol XL 25mg once daily.
Its main adverse effect is bradycardia (bradycardia).
You can increase the dose up to 50mg daily, based on your heart rate.
Regarding Metformine, it does not interact with Metoprolo XL. So, it is safe to take these drugs concomitantly.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
I remain at your disposal for any further questions whenever you need!

Hello again!
I am sorry for misunderstanding the question!
I would recommend a gradual reduce in the dose of Metoprolol until stopping it, in order to avoid possible rebound tachycardia.
For this reason, I would recommend reducing the dose to half a tablet for a week and then a quarter of a tablet for another week and then stop it.
Regarding the gas and bloating, I would recommend increasing the dose of omeprazole to 40mg twice daily, in order to help manage these symptoms.
Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Wishing all the best,
