Hi ,
I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have read the question it seems incomplete.
At Least you should have mentioned your age and job profile.
I am assuming that you are a young IT Professional.
Neck and shoulder pain typically arise when there is pressure on one of the nerves in neck- C5 root , Due to compression at C4-5 Vertebra.
Diagnosis is confirmed by MRI Of Cervical Spine.
Treatment consists of Pain Killers ,Muscle Relaxants, Physiotherapy and precautions( specially in regard to neck postures) .
I recommend that you start treatment and if there is no relief in a week's time , go for MRI Examination.

As a pain killer, I normally advise Etoricoxib 90 mg to be taken once daily.
