Brief Answer:
Symptoms that warrant a visit explained below

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service,

I carefully read your query and understand your concern with possible risks of overdosing the medication.

Normally Malarone is used one tablet a day for prevention of Malaria. For treatment up to 4 tablets, a day can be used.

It is important for us to know what do you mean a double dose. Is it 2 tablets or 8 tablets?
If you have used less than 4-5 tablets you are within the range of normal dose for Malarone. You will need to further use it within the recommended dose by the doctor.

If you used more than a total of 4 tablets in a day then this is over the daily dose and there is a risk for potential increased side effects. In this case, if you develop any stomach upset, skin rash or itchiness, dizziness, muscular pain, headaches or any other complaints you will have to talk to your doctor.

Very likely you will be fine if it was only once that you got a higher dose but if you get any symptoms or complaints this warrants a visit with your doctor.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Kind regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
