Brief Answer:
diet and lifestyle changes can be very helpful

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It does not usually cause people to be bedridden.

Fatty liver means that there is a build up of fat in the liver. This can be due to diet or may be related to excess alcohol use as well.

A diet high in carbohydrates is actually associated with fatty liver because the carbs are changed into fat and stored in the liver.
The fat can eventually cause inflammation in the liver and if this progresses, this can cause damage to the liver

It does not need to progress

Decreasing alcohol use and changing a diet to a healthy one (if it is unhealthy would help)

This means cutting out: carbonated drinks, sweets and desserts, using less rice/pasta/potatoes and more vegetables, more salads and more fruits
A low carb diet can be helpful

In some persons a statin can be helpful as well to reduce issues in the liver

You can discuss this option with your doctor

Exercise and weight loss can also be very helpful in reducing damage to the liver

I hope this helps

Brief Answer:
lifestyle changes can definitely help

Detailed Answer:
HI

It is possible to stop the progression by changing lifestyle -diet and activity

In terms of being common- it is becoming quite common because of the general change in persons diet from what is typically considered healthy
Many people use a lot of sodas, fruit drinks, sweets, desserts, fries , large amounts pasta, alcohol in large quantities etc.
This diet can lead to fatty liver and since this diet is common, many people are being diagnosed with fatty liver

It is not the age, it is the lifestyle (diet, activity) , that affects it.

Cannot say if your progression was fat because not sure when you were diagnosed with grade 1. If you were diagnosed with grade 1 quite recently then the change from grade 1 to 2 would be fast

Brief Answer:
elevated liver enzymes occur in fatty liver disease

Detailed Answer:
HI

Sorry for the delayed reply

The value is high unfortunately, but this would be expected with fatty liver disease.

It is possible that the other parameters such as AST/sgot , is also elevated as well.

Diet and other lifestyle changes would help with liver function
