Brief Answer:
Ear wax softening drops. Medication for pain relief.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The most common reason is that there is a build-up of ear wax. Ear wax is hygroscopic. Hence it will absorb moisture and expand, causing pain.

2. Use OTC (Over The Counter) ear wax softening drops such as Soliwax/ Oticera. Use 5 drops 5 times a day for at least 3-5 days.

3. As the wax softens, the ear pain will decrease. You can take paracetamol (after meals) to ease the pain. In many cases, ear pain occurs after attempts to clean the ear on your own

4. If the pain does not subside, get your ears examined by a local ENT specialist, who can also rule out other causes such as infections. These infections can also be fungal. In addition, ear wax removal may be required.

I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
