I Am 38 Years Old Male Married For 3 Years

Question: I am 38 years old male married for 3 years , trying to conceive for last 1 year , I did semen analysis test today which shows count 60 million per ml , volume 1.5 ml , active motile 20% ,sluggish motile 30% ,non motile 50% ,pus cells 3-4 /hpf, I has mild varicocele on left side.
Kindly guide regarding treatment options?

You seem to have Oligozoospermia .

Thanks for query .

Based on the report of your semen analysis that you have posted you seem to have what is called as Oligozoospermia meaning their by that your sperm count and motility of active sperm count is lower than normal range of WHO standards.

This could be secondary to infection of either Seminal Vesicle or Prostate which is reflected by presence of pus cells in semen .

Start taking antibiotics like Doxicycline twice daily for 4 weeks and repeat semen analysis after completing the course of antibiotics .

Since Varicocele that you have mentioned is mild one it does not need active intervention .

1) Normal Range of pus cells is 0-1

2)Surgery for Varicocele is if it is grade 2 or more and there is pain in testicles .surgery done to increase sperm count may or may not help to increase the sperm count.

3) You can take Bactrim DS twice daily

4) Maxoza XXXXXXX is increases when one has low testosterone levels in blood. to increase sex drive.

I did colour Doppler of scrotum which shows grade 3 varicocele, what's treatment option now?
