I Am 48, And Had My Regular Period Then 16
Please get a sonogram of the pelvis and hormone assay.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for letting us know your health concern.
It is true that during perimenopause, menstrual disturbances are common. However, proper evaluation is necessary.
If I were to treat you, in the current scenario, I would ask for a sonogram of the pelvis, preferably in the trans-vaginal route and a complete hormone assay before going for more invasive procedures.
Having done the investigations, it becomes easier to decide on the need for an endometrial biopsy. It is true that hysteroscopy, in experienced hands, is a better alternative than blind probing done in an ordinary dilatation and curettage. Yet, preliminary investigations as mentioned are necessary to plan proper management.
Hope I have answered your query. Please feel free to contact for further clarifications. I will be happy to help.
regards,
