Question: I am 63 years old. Last night I was experiencing chest pain that felt like pressure was being applied, but gently. I was extremely tired so I went to bed almost as soon as I got home and slept all night. This morning my chest did not feel that pressure but it did feel as if it had been under some duress, kind of achy. I am about 5'9" and weigh 265 lbs. Could this have been heart related?

Hello!

Welcome to Ask a Doctor service!

I passed carefully through your question and would like to know if the chest pain is triggered by deep breathing or manual pressure on the chest.

This would be indicative of a musculoskeletal pain.

Anyway, considering your past medical history ( overweight, arterial hypertension and obesity) we can not exclude a possible cardiac issue.

For this reason I would recomme d consulting with your attending physician for a physical exam, a resting ECG and cardiac enzymes.
If the chest pain persists, going to the ER for the above tests would be necessary.

I would also recommend performing an exercise cardiac stress test or dobutamine stress echo in order to investigate for possible coronary artery disease.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
