Question: I am a 33 yr old male, for some reason my CA 15-3 levels are at 26.5 and the test says it should be below 25 so i am nervous about cancer, the doctor says its only a little elevated and not to worry but should i be worried at that number or can that be normal in some males?

Brief Answer:
Follow up with a bit more information...

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have gone through your query and here is my advice.

Please let me know what was the indication of the test ca 15-3 so that I can get a better idea.

As per clinical studies, it is seen that a mild to moderate increase in ca 15-3 is seen in various malignancies and few percentages of normal individuals.

So kindly follow up with few details,
Presently do you have any other symptoms weight loss, decreased appetite, abdominal pain/back pain, breathlessness, chest pain?

In that case, I would suggest you consult with a medical oncologist for a detailed clinical examination. S/he may procure relevant investigations as per evaluation. Further treatment mainly depends upon the underlying condition.

Hope I have answered your query...
Let me know if I can assist you further.
