Question: I am a 57 year old male in top notch physical condition. I work out vigorously 5x a week ( 3 cardio/ 2full-body weights). I separated from my wife of 20 years last year. I recently began a relationship with a women I care deeply about. unfortunately, I am experiencing male sexual performance anxiety. My therapist suggested I see a physician and get a low dose script for xanax. The questions are: Can I take .25 of xanax with 20mg of cialis? will the xanax kill my libido?

Xanax is mainly used to treat generalized anxiety disorder. Because Xanax depresses your CNS, theoretically it can lower your libido, or sex drive. However, from a practical and realistic ground, your present level of anxiety is more likely to affect your libido than the theoretical possibility of adverse effect of Xanax.

There are interactions possible if Xanax and Cialis are taken together.

Depends on your cardiovascular risk factors

Detailed Answer:
Most of the adverse effects are less due to Xanax and more due to Cialis. Cialis is known to have serious cardiac implications in vulnerable population. If your cardiologist gives you a clean chit, chances are that you would have no problems with Cialis or its combination with Xanax.
